TRAINING FACILITIES WHERE PLAYERS TRAIN DURING THE OFF SEASON
SLIDE BOARDS
Slide boards are where players work on their lateral movements. These will help players with power on their pushes when they take a stride. These will also increase strength and speed as well. If used properly they can help a player with their knee bend. Forcing them to stay low which will maximize power on the stride.
ACCELERATION RAMP
The accelareation ramp is a very effective piece of equipment. This is where players work on their acceleration. This is so important to gaining that extra step on an opponent. The first threee strides when starting are so effective and so important. You can work on Crossover starts or the V start. This is done in skates and on synthetic ice.
SKATING TREADMILL
The skating treadmill is a very critical tool. This tool is for the Elite player. If used incorrectly it may not benefit the player training on it. Parents it is important to do a bit of research on the coach that is training your player on a skating treadmill. There are a lot of critical things that both the coach and player must pay attention to. Elite players train on a skating treadmill to work on conditioning, stride extension, stride recovery, correct posture, and stride power. The ramp also has an incline to make things harder in all of these perspectives.
SYNTHETIC ICE STUDIO RINK
The studio rink is where players work on shooting, stickahandling, and passing. This rink could also be used for goalie training as well.
PASS N SHOOT
The pass n shoot is where players can work on a quick pass and a quick release.Players can work on both back hand and forehand passing. They can also work on any shot.
